Vertice d'Anayet 2555 m ; 13/05/04 Je poursuis mon pèlerinage par une autre revanche: L'an dernier, à l'occasion du week end du CAF, j'avais voulu faire l'Anayet en partant du Pourtalet, en vallée d'Ossau. Je m'étais malheureusement arrêté au lac, à cause d'une météo menançante, précaution qui s'avéra inutile, à ma grande déception le soir, dans un grand ciel bleu ! Je jugeai intéressant de retenter l'expérience cette fois-ci par le côté Ouest, en compagnie d'un ami. Cette randonnée s'inclut dans un programme chargé, où nous prévoyâmes initialement de gravir Pala de Ip et Collarada, dans la continuité en bivouacquant deux nuits. I continue my pilgrimage with another revenge: The year before, during the annual week end of the CAF, I planned to bag the Anayet from the Pourtalet, in the Ossau valley. I stopped unfortunately at the lake, because of a stormy-like weather, precaution which turned out to be completely odd, on my big disappointment, in a wonderful evening blue sky ! I thought it would be then interesting to try again this time from the West side, with a friend of mine. Départ à proximité de Canfranc, nous nous engageons dans le Canal Roya (nommé de la couleur de la terre). Au loin, le massif du Pic D'Aspe.
Starting near Canfranc, we head into the Canal Roya (named after the colour of its soil). Far behind, the range of the Aspe Peak.

Quelques heures après la remontée interminable de cette vallée, nous passons au pied du Pic d'Anayet, cheminée volcanique en basalte unique dans les Pyrénées, pour arriver dans un pâturage méandreux.
Few hours after the endless climb through this valley, we go along the foot of the Anayet Peak, volcanic chimney unique in the Pyrénées, and we arrive into a pasture full of sinous streams network.

Au dessus du balcon rocheux gisent les magnifiques Lacs d'Anayet, auxquels j'ai rendu visite un an auparavant sans pouvoir monter au sommet.
Over the rocky balcony, are lying the wonderful Anayet lakes, which I visited one year before without climbing the summit.

Et encore un, sur la muraille de la Pala de Ip, dont nous parcourrons l'arête demain après un bivouac. On voit aussi le sommet de la Collarada qui dépasse derrière (pour après demain !).
And another one, to the big wall of the Pala de Ip, whose ridge we will walk tomorrow after a bivouac. We can also see the top of the Collarada, which jut out behind (for after tomorrow!).

Du sommet du Vertice d'Anayet, vue sur le Pic d'Anayet, et son frère volcanique le célèbre Pic du Midi d'Ossau. A l'Est, nous songeons dans un premier temps longer cette crête, mais nous laissons tomber l'idée, pour redescendre directement dans la vallée d'Iserias.
From the top of the Vertice d'Anayet, view to the Peak of Anayet, volcanic brother of the famous Pic du Midi d'Ossau. On the East side, we first thought about following this crest, but we gave up this idea and decided instead to climb down directly into the Iserias valey.
