Cette première zone englobe en fait tout le piémont Polonais des Sudètes de l'Ouest, constitué par les monts de Wałbrzych et Sowa, décor bucolique de montagnes vertes et boisées ne dépassant pas les 1000m. Dont l'un des avantages, et pas des moindre, est d'être situées très près de Wrocław. Un autre est qu'elles se prêtent idéalement au VTT.
Plus loin émerge le gigantesque affleurement granitique qui a soulevé le massif du Karkonosze, grand plateau monolithique mordu sur tous ses côtés par de spectaculaires cirques glaciaires, et d'où Śnieżka culmine à 1602m. La crête de ce massif est également clairsemée d'étrange édifices rocheux, mais dont la nature et la formation n'a absolument rien en commun avec ceux en grès que l'on peut observer dans les
Monts Tabulaires voisins...

This first zone gathers in fact all the Polish mountainside of the Western Sudetes, constitued by the hills of Wałbrzych and Sowa, bucolic landscape of green and woody mountains which rarely reach the 1000m. One of their advantage, and not the last, is that they are very close to Wrocław. Another one is that they are particularly convenient for mountain-biking.
Further is rising the gigantic granitic outcrop that lifted up the range of Karkonosze, wide monolithic plateau bitten on every side by few spectacular glaciar cirques, and from where Śnieżka culminates at 1602m. The crest of this range is also spread with some strange boulderring shapes, but whose nature and formation has absolutely nothing to see with thoses from sandstone which we can observe in the neighbouring Table Moutains...
