Besiberri Sud

Prestigieux sommet à trois-mille mètres, le Besiberri, comme ses nombreux voisins et la Punta Alta, trône sur la Ribagorça. Je ressentais le besoin de gravir ce voisin symbolique, par un autre chemin, celui du Sud depuis Caldès de Boi, et en une autre saison. L'exposition au soleil de cette route nous imposa un départ matinal, mais la dureté de la neige resta relativement correcte. Avec ses nombreux étages lacustres tous différents, la course est superbe.

Prestigious summit at three thousand metres, the Besiberri, just like its numerous neighbours and the Punta Alta, overlook the Ribagorça. I felt the need to climb this symbolic neighbour, from another way, the Southern one from Caldès de Boi, and in another season. The exposition in the sun of this route forced us to an early start, but the toughness of the snow remained quite correct. With its numerous levels, with lakes and all different, the trip is superb.

Arrivée au niveau supérieur, celui des Estanys Gemena, aux extrémités dégelées desquels se reflètent tout un éventail de cimes: Baserca, Senyalada, Abellers, Comaloforno, Lequeutre...
Arriving to the upper level, the one of the Estanys Gemena, in whose unfrozen ends are reflecting a whole range of tops: Baserca, Senyalada, Abellers, Comaloforno, Lequeutre...

... Et enfin, un peu plus haut, près des Estanys Gelat, là où nous entrons dans le "Parc Nacional", notre Besiberri Sud !
... And finally, a little higher, near the Estanys Gelat, where we enter in the "Parc Nacional", our South-Besiberri !

Le Turbón apparait tout au loin, au dessus des Estanys Gelat. Nous arrivons enfin au Collada d’Abellers, où est rejoint l’itinéraire du Besiberri partant de la route de Vielha. Quels escarpements, en face !
The Turbón appears far ahead, over the Estanys Gelat. We finally reach the Collada d’Abellers, where is caught back the way coming from the the Vielha road. How steep are these pinnacles facing us !

Enfin au sommet ! Brûlé de la veille et l'avant-veille,me voilà coiffé tel un Cheikh.
Here we are on the top ! Burnt from yesterday and before, here I am dressed as a Cheikh.

A l'Est, de l'autre côté, la Punta Alta. Et dans le prolongement de notre chaine, le Comaloforno, au bout.
In the East, on the other side, the Punta Alta. And in the end of our ridge, the Comaloforno, ending up.

Très loin, au fond à l'Ouest le Cotiella, et beaucoup plus grand et près, l'Aneto.
Very far in the West, the Cotiella, and much bigger and closer, the Aneto.

Le Montardo, surplombé au Nord par le Valier, et le Pic de Travessani, à sa droite.
The Montardo, overlooked in the North by the Valier, and the Pic de Travessani, on the right.
