Babia Góra

Babia Góra, 1725m, point culminant des Beskides, est un grand dôme chauve, un peu isolé, et que l’on voit depuis partout. Son sommet est recouvert d’une végétation naine et rêche. C'est le plus haut point des montagnes Polonaises hors des Tatras, et il fait partie de la chaine des Beskides, excentrée un peu plus au Nord de la frontière, et faite de montagnes boisées aux formes douces. Babia Góra est aussi un superbe point de vue qui fait face à toute la région de Podhale, le "piémont" des Carpates Polonaises.

Babia Góra, 1725m, highest top of the Beskides, is a wide bold dome, a bit isolated, that we can see from everywhere. Its nummit is covered with dwarf and rough vegetation. It is the highest point of the Polish mountains outside Tatras, and belongs to the range of the Beskides, a bit further North from the border, and made of woody mountains with smooth shapes. Babia Góra is also a superb viewpoint facing the whole region of Podhale, the hillfoot of the Polish Carpathes.

Nous nous enfonçons dans le "bush" typique des montagnes Polonaises, le pin nain, comme dans les Tatras.
We get deeper and deeper into the typical "bush" of Polish mountains, dwarf pines, like in Tatras.

La cime se rapproche. Quelques névés subsistent.
The top is getting closer. Few remains of snow.

L'un des derniers pins nains laisse place aux pâturages, dans lesquels poussent quelques Pulsatilles ("Sasanka", en Polonais).
One of the last dwarf pines gives place to pastures, in which grow few Pulsatillas ("Sasanka", in Polish).

Vue sur les Tatras Occidentales, au loin (Ce que je soupçonne être la fin de la vallée Chocholowska), et sur le massif Slovaque des Malá Fatra, d'où l'on reconnait même Rozsutec sombre au premier plan.

Nous commençons la descente, de l'autre côté. Ne vous fiez pas à l'impression, il y a beaucoup de monde ! Les cairns et piquets, qui jalonent l'excellent sentier, témoignent de la popularité de l'itinéraire en ski de randonnée.
We start the descent, on the other side. Don't get mistaken, there is a lot of people ! The cairns and sticks, that mark the excellent paved path, witness of the popularity of this route by cross-country skiing.

Nous retrouvons la forêt, à un petit col qui remonte à Mala Babia Góra, son antécime; toutefois nous n'y allons pas, nous reprenons le sentier qui coupe pae en dessous dans la forêt, pour rejoindre le point de départ.
We meet again the forest, at a small col that climbs again to Mala Babia Góra, secondary top; anyway we don't go, we take back the trail that cut straight into the forest, to come back to our start.

En contrebas du sommet, nous passons devant le refuge Schronisko Na Markowych Szczawinach, en forêt. Un sentier escarpé mène aussi là haut depuis ici.
Below the summit, we pass in front of the mountain hut Schronisko Na Markowych Szczawinach, in the forest. A steep path leads upthere too, from here.
