Cruach Ardrain 1046 m 08/11/03 Retour en Ecosse après ma plus longue absence depuis l'année Erasmus: j'ai décider de conjuguer beauté de l'Automne et les tarifs mirobolants de Ryanair pour ce pont du 11 Novembre. Malheureusement, pas de neige comme en 98, alternance de passages nuageux et d'éclaircies durant 3 jours. Jusqu'à 18°C dans les vallées, du jamais vu ! Destination: le Glen Nevis. Mais on va couper cette trop longue montée en deux, car au passage, et peut être en revenant, depuis Crianlarich on peut faire Cruach Ardrain et Ben Tulaichean, tout comme la paire Ben More - Stobbinnian. Déception, au fur et à mesure que le train s'enfonce dans les premier massifs: le ciel est bas... Return in Scotland after my longuest absence since the Erasmus year: I decided to combine the beauty of the Autumn with the incredible fares of Ryanair, for this November 11th bank holiday. Unfortunately, no snow like in 98, succession of cloudy masses and sunshines during 3 days. Until 18°C inside the valleys, never seen before ! Destination: Glen Nevis. But I will cut this too long journey in two, because on the way, and maybe when coming back, from Crianlarich we can do Cruach Ardrain et Ben Tulaichean, as well as the pair Ben More - Stobbinnian. Deception, while the train is going deeper and deeper in the first massifs: sky is low...

Arrivé sur l'antécime "The Grey Height". Dernière vue claire. Le cirque que forment les cimes de Cruach Ardrain et Stob Garbh est complètement pris dans le plafond nuageux. Au sommet, rencontre avec 2 randonneurs Danois, avec qui j'effectuerai tout le retour.
Once on the top named "The Grey Height". Last clear view. The corrie formed by the tops of Cruach Ardrain and Stob Garbh is completely hidden in the cloudy ceiling. Meeting on the top with 2 Danish walkers, with who I will walk the whole return.

The train de la West Highland Line en gare à la Queen Street Station de Glasgow, avant de partir, le matin. Le soir, transfert en bus et arrivée au Youth Hostel du Glen Nevis. Déception et découragement après cette première journée. Mais la tradition semble vouloir que la première journée de mes retours en Ecosse se passe toujours mal ! (Glen Tilt en 2000, Ben a'Bheithir en 2001... sans citer notre dernière tentative depuis Crianlarich en 99 !)

Deception and discouragement after this wet first day. But it looks like the custom is that the first day of my returns in Scotland are never too good ! (Glen Tilt en 2000, Ben a'Bheithir en 2001... without quoting our last attempt from Crianlarich in 99 !)
